I had the opportunity to listen to some beautiful cello music in Portland over the weekend.  I was so moved, and inspired by the music!  Thankfully I had my sketch pad and pencil in my bag (I take it everywhere I go).  While I listened to the music I sketched.  Isn't that what every artist does when they're moved and inspired during a concert?

Makes me want to play cello at an art show. Rock on Cher! Love your work.

dear cher,

ah. food for the heart. thank you! I, too, struggle with depression. I, too, love the silly, whimsical, ridiculous, and the bright/pretty/beauty. As an artist, it is just the best when we stumble upon a trick or a gift that can guide us through the dark. For me, it's the power of the heart's imagination - its ability to retell a scene, a story, and idea, a dream - its transformative powers. The identity of a heart is a mystery, does't want to be known or identified, and yet its identity is the only gift, or trick of aligning with it - that works for me!

Much love and joy,

Kara
